Have you heard of an Acupuncture Facelift?

I hadn't and I started my journey to becoming more informed about fighting the signs of ageing recently once I realised the 30 something life I had lived was starting to show on my face!
Coming across the usual botox and dysport injections, getting quoted expensive prices for treatments that would last 3-6 months, I was feeling a little jaded about what I could do and then I was tagged in a cosmetic acupuncture news article. I hadn't heard of it before and discovered it wasn't a new concept at all.
This treatment boasted a non invasive, natural approach to improve fine lines and wrinkles which was a lot cheaper than injectables but also natural and my body would essentially do the work. A win win?

Luckily enough I already get a monthly treatment and have a trusted acupuncturist, so I wondered if she could do it? Was it something they all can do or is it specialised? Of course I had lots of questions and Renee, my acupuncturist, helped me work out that this treatment was something I wanted to try.
By inserting very small and fine needles into the problem areas of the face, it stimulates a response in the body which produces collagen and elastin in those areas. It also will increase firmness and blood flow, which leaves you with all round better skin #glowing
I have been excitedly awaiting my appointment and as normal the whole process is pain free, relaxing and a general wellness check up for the month (adding the cosmetic aspect was no different!)

As you can see about ten needles were added to my face and the only reason I knew they were there was I could see them in my peripheral vision.
Talk about pain free and easy! I have seen many a painful injectable video with botox which makes you cringe at the pain and this was definitely nothing like that.
Renee sprayed my face in a lovely gentle mist before and after my treatment, as well as rolling my skin with a crystal skin roller which felt lovely and cool. Just like that it was done – I couldn’t feel them go in or come out.
I have had a lot of questions on my Instagram post and they all are around pain - whilst acupuncture looks painful it shouldn't be and the cosmetic acupuncture is no different.
The needles are so fine you don't feel anything!
I am really excited to see the journey my skin takes now after "tricking" it into thinking these areas need repair and rejuvenating. I also plan on having this treatment regularly so I can document my results and hopefully start to look like I am getting loads of sleep even if that is not the case - thank you Austin hehe
